Why I Created the "Fluently" Android App to Learn Languages
Torben Ziegler
Since I started learning Spanish over 8 years ago, my passion for languages has only grown. Achieving fluency was a milestone, but I discovered that language learning is a continuous journey. New words and expressions emerge constantly, prompting me to seek a more dynamic approach to vocabulary acquisition. As I pursue my Master’s degree in Computer Science, my journey with languages and technology intersected in a meaningful way during my undergraduate studies. In a mobile application development class, I began drafting the prototype of what would later become Fluently.
The initial idea for Fluently emerged from my experience in the mobile application development class. Seeing the potential of mobile platforms to revolutionize language learning, I envisioned an app that would integrate cutting-edge technology with community-driven content.
At the heart of Fluently lies its marketplace, a unique platform where users can upload and share their vocabulary lists. Whether you’re learning English, German, Spanish, or any other language, the marketplace allows learners to collaborate and benefit from each other’s knowledge. This community-driven approach aims to enrich the language learning experience by making it interactive, engaging, and tailored to individual needs.
Fluently thrives on user contributions and feedback. Every learner, whether uploading a new vocabulary list or providing input on app features, plays a crucial role in shaping the platform’s evolution. As I continue to refine and expand Fluently, your participation and feedback are invaluable. Together, let’s transform language learning into a shared adventure where everyone can contribute and benefit.
